Prof. (Dr.) Pramod Kovvaprath

Prof. (Dr.) Pramod Kovvaprath is a distinguished academician, researcher, author, translator, and administrator with nearly three decades of teaching and research experience. He is currently serving as Senior Professor in the Department of Hindi, University of Calicut, and Programme Director of the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (MMTTC), University of Calicut.
A First Rank holder in M.A. Hindi Language and Literature and P.G. Diploma in Translation & Secretarial Drafting in Hindi, he possesses Post Graduate Degrees in Hindi, English, and Sociology, along with NET, B.Ed., and Ph.D. qualifications. His areas of specialization include Modern and Contemporary Hindi Poetry, Translation Studies, Indian Literature, and Contemporary Literary Discourses.
Prof. Kovvaprath has authored and edited 23 acclaimed books and published more than 150 research articles in reputed national and international journals. He has successfully supervised 15 Ph.D. scholars and numerous M.Phil., M.A., and PG Diploma projects. He has presented over 150 research papers at national and international conferences and has contributed significantly to literary translation between Hindi and Malayalam.He has completed UGC project also.
An accomplished academic leader, he has served as Dean, Faculty of Humanities at CUSAT, Head of the Department of Hindi (two terms), Chairman of the PG Board of Studies (two terms), Academic Coordinator, Programme Officer of NSS, and member of several academic, administrative, and policy-making bodies across India. He has also served as a resource person in Faculty Development Programmes, Refresher Courses, and Academic Staff Colleges of leading universities throughout the country.
His contributions to Hindi language and literature have been recognized with numerous prestigious national and international honours, including the National Award for Hindi Writers from Non-Hindi Speaking Areas conferred by the Central Hindi Directorate, Ministry of Education, Government of India, along with several distinguished literary and academic awards from India, France, and Australia.
As Programme Director of MMTTC, University of Calicut, Prof. Kovvaprath is committed to advancing quality teacher education, academic leadership, professional development, and the effective implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) through innovative training and capacity-building initiatives for higher education faculty across the country
