Principal Workshop
MALAVIYA MISSION TEACHER TRAINING CENTRE (MM-TTC), in collaboration with the University of Calicut, Kerala, organized a joint workshop for Principals and Educational Administrators on the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP) Curriculum Framework. The event took place on December 18, 2023, at the DCMS Auditorium. Principals and managers from various colleges affiliated with the University of Calicut, along with representatives from other states, participated in this informative workshop.
The primary objective of this workshop was to familiarize administrators and principals with the new curriculum guidelines and the essential aspects required for the successful implementation of FYUGP in their respective colleges.
The inauguration of the program was conducted by Prof. Satheesh E.K., Registrar of the University of Calicut, who emphasized the significance of making education more learning-centric. He highlighted the necessity for a fundamental transformation in the existing higher education system, emphasizing the precedence of learning over teaching.
The sessions were conducted by experienced resource persons who had hands-on experience in executing the new four-year degree program in 2023. They shared invaluable insights into the challenges encountered during the implementation phase.
Dr. Sankar S, Advisor-IQAC Cluster & Retired Principal of Akkineni Nageswara Rao College, Gudivada, Andhra Pradesh, led a session on NEP 2020: Leadership in Education: Navigating Challenges and Fostering Excellence. Another session was conducted by Dr. Neha Singhal, NEP Nodal Officer, AQAR Coordinator, and Assistant Professor in the Department of Commerce at Sri Venkateswara College, University of Delhi, focusing on the Implementation of the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP) and the associated responsibilities and challenges for Administrators.
Dr. Sabu K Thomas, Director of MMTTC, University of Calicut, extended a warm welcome to all the participants, while Dr. K Azeez, AAC member of MM-TTC University of Calicut & Principal of P.S.M.O College, Tirurangadi, delivered the vote of thanks.
